To an Elder Poet
By George Sterling
Now stir the blossoms in the grass;
But oh! the fadeless flowers you bring
Are children of a wilder Spring,
And pass not tho' the seasons pass.
Their breath along the Singing-Way
Is more of rapture than of rest;
The undeparting blooms attest
What rains and winds of yesterday!
